Set off on a tour of the locations used by the HBO hit “Game of Thrones”. Take a walk in the footsteps of some of your favourite characters. This tour has been prepared with the help of an Icelandic actor who actually died violently in the show at the hands of the Wildlings.
Enjoy a 40 minute drive to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was the backdrop for the White Walkers scenes. See the gorge of Thingvellir, where the European and American tectonic plates are slowly drifting apart, causing a massive crack in the earth's surface.
You will also stop at Iceland’s largest geothermal power stations on the shores of Lake Thingvallavatn. It is not a filming location, but the spectacular scenic beauty of the place makes it a site worth visiting.
You will be immersed in this imaginative and beautiful atmosphere at Þingveillir, which in turn, will help you to understand the significance of the area to the plot of the show. You will also see Þjórsárdalur and the “Settlement Era Viking Lodge”, which is the location of the greatest massacre and most elaborate scene of the series so far.
This amazing tour will allow you to use your imagination to picture yourself in the actual show and what it must be like in real life. It also provides an excellent way to see and capture the beauty of Iceland in a fun and creative way.
As a bonus, you also get to see locations used in another film called “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped at your hotel.
