The 50km round road trip from Glenorchy to Paradise, and up to Mount Aspiring National Park, one of New Zealand’s three World Heritage Areas, visits locations used in the filming of The Lord of the Rings and views locations and backdrops from many others including The Hobbit, Narnia and Wolverine.
Including is a short forest walk through Red Beech trees (used as Ents in the Lord of the Rings) and an introduction to our native plants and their special properties.
The gentle, walking paced one hour horse ride is excellent for beginners and children. From the back of your horse you will see a different view up the Wizard’s Vale and the Misty Mountains in the Dart Valley, the location of Isengard.
Plenty of photo opportunities on and off horse! A wonderful experience for beginner riders, Lord of the Rings fans and movie buffs.
